Diggers in Victoria

"went to Diggers for lunch. Service staff seemed a little cranky, attitude came across as we are here because we have to be. I accept that working in hospitality the place was probably understaffed and hospo workers get underpaid, however, at least use some manners when dealing with customers. No smiles, no thank you, no nothing from the girl who took our food and drink order. Prices were reasonable. Even though they messed up my order, they were very quick to fix it, (didn't seem happy about having to though), and serve what I had originally asked for. The food quality was very nice, large portion servings, and the seniors meals friends ordered were beautifully done. It is lovely that seniors get a choice of soup or desert with their meal."

"I should preface my review by stating we have made a fatal mistake in holidaying in Yarrawonga/Mulwala early in the week. All my plans were out the window because nothing much opens til Wednesday!! So with plan A and plan B falling flat, we asked a local “is there anywhere open for lunch?” They sent us to Diggers. All good signs in that there were big smiles everywhere on the staff. The meals are the usual “club fare”. But certainly plenty of it, and good quality. We had placed our order (roast of the day and lime squid) and sat down with a drink …. And our buzzer went off less than ten mins later. It is reminiscent of the border clubs in that there are lots of tables in ranks, but they’ve made an effort and it had a nice feel. Price wise, our two meals, a pint of beer and a big coke only set us back $61. Great value."

"We went for Ribs Tuesday as we'd heard rave reviews. The place was packed and staff weren't clearing tables quick enough for those coming in and out, this was due to how busy they were. The kids meals were OK, the beef schnitzel fell apart and the ribs were huge but nice. My husband and I shared the ribs they were that big. I would suggest getting there as soon as dinner service starts so you can get a table."

"Diggers is a typical large R.S.L. Dining, bars and pokies. But the view at the indoor-outdoor dining area overlooking lake Mulwala is one of a kind. Roast of the day and porterhouse were large and nicely cooked. What more could you want? Nice cold beer, lots of food, lovely lake views and good vibes. Life is wonderful."

"We went to Diggers for dinner on Sunday evening . The staff were very friendly, pleasant and happy. There was plenty of food on our plates. 3 pieces of fish and chips (which were hot ) and varied vegetables for my husband,. A seniors fish for myself with ample and varied vegetables. Our only criticism with the veggies is that it could have been hotter. The prices were very reasonable. The desserts were varied and they all looked very inviting. I had the lemon and lime cheesecake with cream, very nice. We had a complimentary breakfast the next day because we stayed at Club Mulwala We had the big breakfast which was lovely too. The only criticism again, it could have been hotter."
